What I do

I’m an Indianapolis-based freelance journalist specializing in environmental and energy beats. I’ve written recently for Midwest Energy News and Environmental Health News. I was previously an editor and writer for the Environmental Monitor, an environmental trade magazine. Before that I worked at a NOAA lab. I did that after writing for the award-winning Great Lakes Echo while getting a master’s in environmental journalism at the Knight Center for Environmental Journalism. Before that I was a biology technician at Midland County Mosquito Control, where I learned to tell mosquito species apart like most can tell a blue jay from a wild turkey.
